Favorite YA book: Of ALL TIME? Either The Princess Diaries: Princess in Love (Meg Cabot) or Fly on the Wall (E. Lockhart). Recently read, I love Catching Fire (Suzanne Collins), Clockwork Angel (Cassandra Clare), Beautiful Darkness (Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl), and Paranormalcy (Kiersten White). Oh, and Avalon High (Meg Cabot)!
Favorite genre(s): Paranormal romance/urban fantasy, *some* contemp chick lit, if it's humorous. I hate angsty books.
Who is the dreamiest YA romantic lead? Why?: Lend, from Paranormalcy -- no matter what face he chooses, he's still beautiful. AND he's one of the few paranormal romance leads who I feel respects his leading lady!
Who is the best YA heroine? Why?: Either Katniss from THG or Sam from All-American Girl (Meg Cabot). They get things done and do them with grace, and their lives aren't about the boys in their worlds (even if they do end up with their perfect matches).

I love YA fiction, and the characters, but since I am so much older, the characters are more like younger siblings to me than potential love interests. I guess thats just my personal opinion.

I think most people in most fandoms are a lot older than the characters, honestly. Fictional characters are ageless.
