Damages 2x02 - Burn It, Shred It, I Don't Care
"Oh you have to be careful Ellen, everyone is looking for an angle"... oh you bet yah Patty, i'm all so confused now with all those curveballs thrown on episode 2. Although some speculations are still intact, it's just that some things just adds up and subtract. What the hell, i guess it's time to re-speculate!
Case A - Who Killed Wifey?
We're opening a new case here since wifey died from the hands of a stranger (or not a stranger at all). Who could have done it? What's the intention? I have a couple of suspects i can name:
A1. Daniel Purcell - killed his wife for an apparent love affair. Who's the bitch? Claire Maddox.
A2. Claire Maddox - same reason, but she's the one executed the plan. Hiring a guy to kill wifey would be nice, less trouble and more love.
I am not convinced that the company has something to do with the killing. They may have threatened Daniel but i don't know, i just don't buy it... it's too obvious if it is.
Case B - Who is Wes Krulik?
Oh yeah, like what i mentioned in my blog on the first episode, this character can be the culprit. Why all the clippings of the Frobisher Case and all that ammunition? Is he going to war? Let's look at the possibilities:
B1. He also have a grudge against Arthur (oh he is so loved by many). I don't know the connection but maybe there is another case that we are not aware of that led to his girlfriend's death.
B2. He is the hire-to-kill guy. Maybe all those clippings are his studies on Ellen and stalking her. Is he also the person responsible for Mrs. Purcell's death? (This could be a long shot.)
Case C - What is Daniel burning?
That's this episode's cliffhanger as we saw Daniel burrying and burning some "thing". What could it be? Evidence of what?
C1. Evidence of a much larger scale that would put him down?
C2. Evidence from the past with Patty? (Refer to the last part of this blog).
C3. His naked pictures (hehe, just for laughs :P).

The Big Case - Ellen shot who?
I'm still fixed to my previous speculations... well most of it though (and i am adding more!). Why add more? Like Patty said to Ellen during a conversation: "I think anyone is capable of anything"... and i think so too. So what changed in my list? Read them:
1. I still think it's not Patty.
2. I still think Ellen's talking to nobody.
3. Arthur Frobisher may be out of the scene. I don't know if he's still involved but i could be wrong.
4. We have some new input that could lead us to Wes Krulik (even if he's sleeping with Ellen like they're a happy couple). (Not a good moment for you aint it Mr. Wes?)
5. This is new! For some reason, it could be Daniel Purcell. I have no evidence right now but seems like Daniel is a deviant character. He has some skeletons in his closet that he's hiding i think.
6. Tom Shayes (what? are you nuts?) *cough* I am nuts! I love Tom but I am not leaving everyone out :P. (ok, maybe i am very paranoid. He'll eventually be out of the list in the few episodes... I hope).
7. Katie Connor (lol! i just want to include her. Where is she anyways?)
Before i end this episode, a show stealer should be appropriately acknowledged :D. This scene is when i thought Patty already knows what Ellen was up to, but surprise! it's a sonogram! As Ellen said... Congrats Tom, you're pregnant! :P
(Ellen may have thought that it's the end of her career... well, not this early Ms. Parsons :P)
What's This?
...and also i have noticed something that may reveal itself in the future. It was in the scene where Patty and Daniel came across with Michael. Patty is a bit distraught, Daniel is happy to meet Michael, Michael seems to be interested on Daniel. What does that equation tells us? Michael could be Patty's son from Daniel? It's a bit evident that in the first episode, Patty and Daniel are quite indifferent from each other (a reason which may be coming from the past... a turbulent times with each other... in a relationship most likely).
So that's about it for now, hope that my theories are on the right path.
