Apparently boyband fans make for mean students. SORRY, MR. LIM. >_>
Okay so there's this one very outspoken young woman in my East Asian History class, I think I've mentioned her as the other Canadiens fan who loves to torture Mr. Lim, and she is like my favourite person in the world today.
First reason: When we went into the classroom the sports section of a newspaper was sitting on one of the desks, so she tossed it over to the seat Mr. Lim always sits at so the first thing he saw when he sat down was "LEAFS ARE LOWEST OF THE LOW". He remarked over the cackling laughter that he wished he had some "Leafs pwn the Habs" headlines to toss over to her, and she just laughed harder. (Poor Mr. Lim. Apparently he even named his son after Curtis Joseph... Poor Mr. Lim's son.) I asked her if her goal is to make him cry by the end of the year. "Pretty much, yeah."
Second reason: On the way out of the classroom I heard her say she is going to see Ninja Assassin because of Rain and I commented on how that is an excellent reason but she shouldn't forget Joon from MBLAQ. We spent a ten minute walk talking about Korean boybands, Japanese boybands, different ways of learning Japanese, Kansai slang, and who is the best member of Big Bang. (She asked who my favourite is and I said I love them all a ton but possibly GD because I was him for Halloween. She objected, favouring Taeyang, and I have since seen the MV for Wedding Dress and now actually agree with her. But still love them equally. I'm not sure how that works, it just does.) I also managed to convince her in under 60 seconds that not all Japanese actors are totally jaded and more or less indifferent to their fans by using Kido Yuya as an example without ever actually mentioning his name. I felt so accomplished. \o/
On a tangentally related note, have you ever had a song stuck in your head so bad you keep singing it out loud without even realizing it? Because I have been going around randomly singing SOWONEUL MALHABWA~ since like seven this morning and I am gradually losing my mind. I'M GENIE FOR YOU BOY~ Ugggghhh, I want to punch myself in the face. (I actually keep accidentally singing "I'm genie for you girl~", which I'm pretty sure is Jokwon's fault.)
