Hmm, yes I have been away for a long time-Facebook can make you forget other good things. I was talking to a friend on FB, and referred her here as she was asking if I write. I've missed LJ so much, I really should get back to checking it regularly, Facebook has not been good for me in that my writing has become less fluent, more abbreviated (why ( Read more... )

Thanks. So you're on twitter? I see people's twitter posts in LJ entries, all those strange words and symbols, is it pictures as well like LJ, or are the words all there is? I find it very confusing. I like FB because it helps me to keep up with friends and family, and also with current affairs, groups like Amnesty Internatonal etc. And at the moment lots of protesting at stuff the government is doing especially how they are treating Asylum seekers. There is maybe something to be said for the way the Americans tended to assassinate presidents, I sure would like to do away with our Prime Minister.

David is about 9 weeks old now, and I'm hopefully going over to see him on Tuesday. Wednesday they go to her partner Glen's family, they do invite me, but there are a lot of them (irish catholic family) and they are too full on for me. A nice quiet day with my cat will do me fine>

You can post pictures in twitter as well, I follow a great many indigenous and political activists/writers on there, that way I keep aware of whats going on. Australian politics make me sick atm, Tony Abbot in his first three months is shaping up to be the worst PM we have ever had, god help us over the next three years.

Refugees
NBN
NDIS
Pensions
Gonski

So many brokken promises.

I share your disgust at the current antics of Tony Abbott. I follow a lot of what is going on, especially the refugee crisis (which it is, even though he won't admit that).I am wondering if Australia can survive another 2 1/2 years or so of this moron. I So much wish we could do what they did to Whitlam and get him kicked out of office, but the only politicians that seem to have any courage or integrity are the Greens and there is not enough of them. I was always a labor supporter, but over the last year or so I got so disillusioned with them that I don't really have any involvement. At the moment, Senator Sarah Hanson-Young is collecting toys for the kids in Nauru, so that's been what I am focusing on. She went over there and saw and spoke to the people there, and it's absolutely horrible how they are being treated. I agree with you on the issues, plus there is the environmental disaster of defunding all the people who fight for the environment, allowing state governments to destroy places of huge significance like the Great Barrier ( ... )
