I share your disgust at the current antics of Tony Abbott. I follow a lot of what is going on, especially the refugee crisis (which it is, even though he won't admit that).I am wondering if Australia can survive another 2 1/2 years or so of this moron. I So much wish we could do what they did to Whitlam and get him kicked out of office, but the only politicians that seem to have any courage or integrity are the Greens and there is not enough of them. I was always a labor supporter, but over the last year or so I got so disillusioned with them that I don't really have any involvement. At the moment, Senator Sarah Hanson-Young is collecting toys for the kids in Nauru, so that's been what I am focusing on. She went over there and saw and spoke to the people there, and it's absolutely horrible how they are being treated. I agree with you on the issues, plus there is the environmental disaster of defunding all the people who fight for the environment, allowing state governments to destroy places of huge significance like the Great Barrier Reef and Tasmanian forests. Mining the Burrup and destroying ancient rock art. Putting sole parents on the grossly inadequate Newstart allowance (which is impossible for anyone to live on, let alone Mums with primary school age kids, they are being bullied into dealing with Job search agencies that mess them around, and try to make them take on multiple jobs and not be there to care for their kids. Not too bad when they are older, like high school, but at age 8? I really wonder where all this will end.

Australia is a BIG country we have the room for every single refugee that is currently in detention and then some. The amount of money it is costing could rehome all these people in accomadtion and give them a allowance and it would still be cheaper.

I am so disgusted with all the political parties.
