summer 08 is almost over!
before i begin my rant, a few announcements!
one) i finally updated my year-old layout. i realized that you can barely see anything with the black-and-dark-blue-ness of it all, even if it did match the awesome image of the marauders out and about. thanks again to 7eal for that. at least now it's a much happier color. yayness!
two) i'm actually going to start updating on a regular basis. even though i feel slightly silly because no one ever reads my livejournal. but i hope that'll all change as the rest of my plan goes into action... namely...
three) i'm going to start cross-posting my fics here and on fanfiction.net. i've started planning a few new fics that hopefully aren't as... um... depthless as the last few fics i've ever written, haha. i have two new fics on the rise, one in the mwpp era (yay!) and one for twilight. i've been itching to write for awhile now, so i've convinced my beta to write with me. my twilight one will probably be posted at
imperiol_bflaii, where my beta (imperiolism) and i have begun a shared account for all the fics we're co-authoring. it's the first one we'll ever co-write, so we hope it goes well!

okay, so i guess the whole 'fandom-exploding-thing' that happened on august the second isn't anything we can deal with. i was certainly caught up in the whole shebang and now i prowl the twilight fic communities like a druggie looking for some good quality weed. and good quality i do find! it's amazing how much livejournal can help you find awesome quality fics, unlike scouring fanfiction.net as i used to do. i never do that now, thank god. all the awful fics out there were starting to make me choke.
anyway. so with my constant prowling, i decided to stop lurking and perhaps make myself known in the communities, somewhat. and what better way than to do the only thing i know how? fanfic writing! i haven't written a good fic in a long while (to tell you the truth, my best fics were my oneshots. anything that goes on too long ends up being awful) and i'm hoping the ones i have lined up will spark some sort of drive in me. all the reading and no writing was started to get on my nerves.
so the mwpp era fic is mostly a drama/romance/angst story, and i tried to make it more realistic than most of the fanfictions are out there. in harry potter and otherwise. i mean, if hogwarts is like any teenage-infused school, you'd think there'd be more action going on, or something. not sex per se, but like relationships gone wrong and heartbreak and friendships broken and backstabbing... you know. what happens in middle school, high school, university. we've been through it all. not much has been decided on this yet, but i know i'll mostly be writing it and
jamc91 will probably beta it. if you don't know about her, you should prolly check her out. she's awesome.
then imperiolism (she doesn't have a lj just yet, i think she'll mostly be using our shared account) and i will be launching our first ever twilight fic. it's set for post-twilight, pre-new moon, so hopefully it'll go well. oh, and just a slight warning - it's going to be M-rated. NC-17. R-rated. whatever takes your fancy - but you know what we mean.
