I'm hoooome! Florida was amazing, I want to go back so bad. I could live there for sure. It's so nice there, well the scenery is anyways. I'm not so sure about the people considering they're allowed to use firearms if they feel like they need too.
I'm going to write the entire and probably really boring story. Last Thursday we left for our trip, we had to drive which really sucked but who cares, I was going to Florida. We went with my Dads friend Warren, who brought along his new girlfriend Leigh and her 3 kids, Lauren 5, Jesse 10, and Ryan 17. It wasn't until we got to Kentucky when it started to get warmer out. We stopped at this gas station, and thats when every took their coats off because it was +18 out. I was inside getting stuff to eat for the ride and I went to pay-and as mean and rude as this sounds- the guy spoke and he actually had a southern accent and when we go outside everyone laughed. I've never heard anyone who's had an accent like that so it was different to me. They must think we talk funny though.
After that, we drove to Atlanta and that was a little wierd. We stopped at another gas station and this kid tried punking my dads shoes off of him and my dad said inside the gas station the cashier was sitting behind a 3 inch think bullet proof glass wall. He said there was only a tiny slot you put your money in, which really freaked my dad out because obviously the part of Atlanta we were in was bad or else the guy wouldn't be sitting behind bullet proof glass.
We got to some Hotel and spent the night there and it was alright. We went to Denny's but it was so disgusting, I had Chicken Fingers and the girl suggested I tried ranch dip with them so I did and I almost barfed on the spot so that was that lol.
The next day we drove the rest of the way to Polk County, Florida which took 6 hours. And by than we had drove in total 26 hours! We go to out resort, which happened to be freaking amazing! They were all these little town houses in a subdivision but there was the front lobby because you rent the houses for how many weeks you want at the lobby or over the internet but they have your key. So, while we waited we went and checked out the pool that everyone in the subdivision could swim in and there was a lazy river, a water slide and a hot tub. It was sick! Palm trees were everywhere, it was like paradise...something you would only dream of,but it was so real!
Sunday, all we did was hang out at the pool and I checked out my very first Wal-mart Super Centre. That was friggen awesome, it was massive. It was like two Canadian Wal-marts people together. They also sold a lot cooler stuff.I bought a pair of awesome shorts from there.
Monday, we went to Universal Studios and that was absolutly the best fun I have ever had. The Hulk was amazing-it was so fast. Spiderman, was also really good for being 3d I dont normally like that stuff. Than we went on all these cool water rides and some other stuff as well. It was so much fun.
Tuesday, we went to Cocoa beach. That was great. I got burnt badly and I was chased by a jellyfish! We also got to see the Kennedy Space Shuttle Launcher thing lol. We didn't actually see it launch because they delayed it til April. But it's right on Cocoa Beach. The salt water was so weird. It tastes really gross and it makes your lips pruny. It also burns your eyes and nose if you get it up your nose. There was dolphins swimming near the shore which was beautiful.
Wednesday, we went to Sea World and that was pretty fun. We watched the dolphin and whale show. That was sooo neat, they had acrobats doing flips and stuff and then they had the divers doing really cool dives. They also had the Macaws flying around above everyone but they were flying low enough that people could touch them. We went underneathe the glass tunnel and saw all the really cool fish and the sharks. I touched a sting ray but, it was so wierd! They feel like jello and the ones that were in the tank seemed to like being touched.
Thursday, we went back to Universal and did the other half of the park, which was more or so special effects rides and 3D stuff. It was alright, I didn't really like it that much, it was sort of boring. The Mummy ride was cool because it was a coaster and I also liked Twister. It showed you what it was like to be in one.
Friday, all we did was go shopping. That was fun, we went to the mall with the Vans Skate Park in it and I bought a pair of shorts, well actually, my dad did. Dad also bought me some other stuff as well. It was awesome. The coolest store ever though was probably Ron Jon's Surf shop. We only have Ron Jon's in Canada and it just so happens to be in Barrie where my dad lives. It's amazing, but really expensive. I bought some stuff from there. I was going to buy a shot glass that said, "I got a little tipsy in Orlando," and the glass was on a slant. It was great.
Saturday, we left and just drove straight home without spending the night anywhere. It was a looong ride but I slept through most of it.
Dad and I saw some guy walking into the back of a strip joint with a shot gun. That really freaked me out lol. I didn't want to piss anyone off just because I didn't feel like being shot.
They also have fences up along every interstate to keep the crocodiles off the road which, I thought was really neat. They also have these reflectors on the road called cats eyes so whenever theres no lamp posts, your lights hit the cats eyes and it lights up the road. They have them in every lane where the yellow line is. It also keeps you in your lane so your not swerving accidentally in the other persons lane because you'll feel your car bump. I wish we had them in Canada night driving would be so much easier. We can't though coz the plows will take them out.
In every gas station they sell alcohol. They also don't have any convenience stores, they're all gas stations. It's wierd. You can buy like everything in them as well. They have a place called The Waffle House-don't ever eat there cause I through up, it gave me the worst stomache ache and everyone else felt sick after eating from there. Their Tim Hortons are very few and very far between we only saw two! It's so much different there, than in Canada.
All in all it was seriously the best thing that ever happened to me and I want to go back so bad!
