YES SIR!!!!!!!! Ok, this is what happened. Last Tuesday, I went to the job fair my school was having. There were about 5 companies that I was interested in and I prepared for all of them. I went onto their sites, read up on them, and wrote a cover letter for each of them. My cover letter and my resume were both on resume paper, and I even included a Senior Project Overview in my folder as well. Well, I met with 4 of the 5 companies that I wanted to, but I wasn't able to talk to one because they had not showed up. So that sucked. Well, while I was looking around at the other companies that I hadn't talked to yet, I noticed this one company called Noble Systems. I hadn't heard of them before, but they looked like they knew something about computers, so I was going to check them out. I took the cover letter off of one of my folders since it wasn't going to be used, and I went and talked to them. I gave them my resume folder and talked to them a little bit about the company, but not very long because I didn't know anything about the company. Well, they asked me a few questions about what I've done while I've been in school. I answered them the best I could, and they said they'd call me. I also signed up for this raffle for a free nano IPod they were giving away, but I don't need it cause I already have an MP3 player. Well, wouldn't you believe it, they called me the next day. They said that they just got done looking over my resume and they wanted me to come in for an interview. We set up a time for me to come in, and the lady that I was talking to also told me that I had won the IPod. Well, everyone I know here was around me at the time of the call, so they got mad at me, in a friendly way. Asher said that because I already have an IPod that he should get it. Well, I told him ok, cause it was no big deal to me. Later on that day, I was talking to Ms. Kkusum cause she had stopped by the lab to say hello. Well, she saw that I got the IPod and the interview and she said she wanted the IPod. Knowing me, how I will do anything for women, especially ones as great as her. Well, they made a deal, and I agree with it. Asher had gotten a call the same day from a different company, a company who wasn't even at the job fair, and he was going to schedule an interview. Well, they said that if he gets the job, she can have the IPod. But if he doesn't get the job, then he'll get the IPod. I agreed, they shook hands, and that's that about that. Ok, so here comes Friday and I have everything I need. An extra copy of my resume, some examples of what I've done using SQL, and my SQL book for me to look at while I'm on the train on the way to the interview. Well, I had a few calls that morning and had to make a few, so I wasn't able to look over my examples. I get to the interview, take this small test that was really easy, then I wait for Patrick to come out and get me. I waited a half hour, the whole time having to pee. Well, we go to his office, he begins the interview, and he hands me the IPod. Like a stupid ass, I tell him that I promised it to someone else. Not that it mattered in this case, but if you ever win something from a company that you're interviewing with, never tell them you gave what you won away. Then, he was looking over my resume, and I told him about an error I made on my resume so I didn't look like an idiot when they did a background check. Well, wouldn't you know it, I spelled Electronics wrong as well, and he knew about it. He actually knew about it before he called me in for the interview. Well, we continue with the interview and he asks me what I have done with SQL. Well, I told him a little bit, then handed him my examples. Wouldn't you know, he looked them over, asked me a question about them, and I didn't know the answer. He said this jokingly, but he still meant it nonetheless; "Don't bring examples if you don't know what they do." Boy, did I feel stupid. After a few more questions and me asking him questions, he asks me to hold on cause he wants me to talk with someone else. Well, I use the restroom, talk to the second guy, and he asks me more questions, some of which I don't know. Boy, did I feel small in that place or what. And here's another thing, this building is BEAUTIFUL. But anyways, he shows me how the place operates, asks me some more questions, and also embarrasses me about the mispelling of Electronics again. (I spelled it Electronis.) Well, after that, he has me talk to the VP of Support. I go in, he's really cool, and he tries and tells me what a normal day is like there. He's got music going on in his room, it's dimly lit, and it's a very relaxed feeling. Oh, and I also happened to show up to the interview in my nice suit while everyone else there was enjoying the luxuries of casual Friday. Everyone that was there seemed to be relax and not like it was an uptight environment, which seems to be the case with most technological companies now a days. Well, finally, the interviews are over, and one of the guys that I talked to escorts me out. Well, he decides to show me more of the place, and also tells me, "The last person that won the IPod got the job as well." Well, I was thinking, DON'T TEASE ME. Well, I told everyone how bad the interview went. Really kept thinking about how shitty I did and how bad I messed up. I sent them thank you letters, and one of them was not received because I was given the wrong e-mail. Well, another one wasn't received because I misspelled his e-mail. Well, I corrected it, sent it back. My mom told me to call them soon and see what they are going to do about the position, and I told her I would do it on Tuesday. Tuesday was going great as well. I got my PCB, was able to relax before going to K-Mart, left school late but got to K-Mart early, and on the way to work, got a call from Patrick. He told me they wanted to make me an offer. WHOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO. I couldn't believe it. I botched that interview so badly yet I still got the job. I get Blue Cross/ Blue Shield health insurance, Guardian Dental, Paid vacations and holidays, and a 401K plan. The salary is "eh", but it's enough to keep me in ATL, to get my own apartment, and furnish it nicely. I start on May 30th. Finally, I get to quit K-Mart. Which, on the same day, the only thing that sucked was that my K-Mart manager was being a royal ass to me that day. Oh well, only 2 more weeks there. However, this does mean that I might not be able to come home for vacation. That does suck, it really does, but at the same time, I have to take care of what's going on down here before I can worry about leisure time. I do apologize if that puts a damper on anyone's day, but I have to get settled down here. But you're more than welcome to come visit me ANYTIME you want. Well people, I have to get going. I shall talk to you all later. Love you all and God Bless.
