hanging on two
this is just a real quick update..to let everyone know I'm still alive. I've been at division schools at camp margarita for the past 2 weeks doing our main mortar training before we deploy in july. even though we will still do some training on our guns before we ship off..this was the only real focused training we'll get on em for a while. we had a shoot this past thursday. we put about 500 rounds down range..a lot of HE (high explosive), Illum (illumination, duh), and WP (white phosphorus, or willy pete as we like to call it)
anyway.. tomorrow I have to be at the armory at 4:45am to get my M16, then I'm off to victorville for 2 weeks to do some intensive rifleman skills training. thats 2 weeks straight in the field..we don't even get the weekend off like we usually do. on the upside, we are getting a day off when we get back .. woohoo. (I hope the sarcasm wasn't lost on that one) these 2 weeks are supposed to somewhat simulate combat conditions of nonstop operations and little sleep...so basically..I'll be cut off from civilization for a bit, sort of like I've been 2 weeks prior to this, making this one fun month.

in other news..devOn is probly in 29 palms already..enjoying the palminess of the place..all 29 of em..teeheehee.
wow...more than anything right now I just want to be able to talk about anything else but what I've been doing lately or what I will be doing shortly... but what else is there in my life right now..nothing..no personal life to speak of..other than the one at home I'm trying in vain to keep alive. and even little fragments of life scattered about the place everywhere..so hard to keep track of. in a way this, all this right now..is a really good thing.. cause in the end all this hard work, the training, is what will keep me alive when the metal meets the bone ..to keep everything from shattering into a million pieces .. so I can come home
