a year of scrabble

Dec 23, 2010 01:40

keep this short, since there isnt much that needs to be said.

23 tournaments in 2010
record: 93-92-2 (bleah)
rating: went down from 1757 -> 1709 (bleah)

highs:
winning Berkeley NAST, going 6-0 at two tourneys, starting the BOB and the xkcp closed series (and winning 2 closeds), cooking for everyone and hosting so many people for the California Open, making a serious commitment to improving and seeing immediate results.

lows:
pretty much everything else. i played terrible this year.

but the game seems to be headed in the right direction again. and as the stress from the rest of life has lessened, the game is becoming more fun simply for itself, regardless of results.

i’m looking forward to 2011: Arcata, Kelowna, NAST final, Dallas, another lunatic CO vortex, the BOB and a whole lot of closeds. a whole lot of closeds. those mean more than any stupid 1-day in Mt. View ever could.
