My plan for last night was simple and allowed me to get some sleep. HAHA!
I pay the bill. Get in the car to go put gas in the car and then go to the bank. Ruh- Ruh- Ruh-
The car won't start.
Call the husband. Since the car was on "E" it could be gas, or it could be a starter issue. Great. Well, lets try the easy part first.
Call Sharon and see if she is in the neighborhood. I know she has a gas can. YAY! She happens to be down the street. Save me!
Sharon arrives with gas and we put some in the car. Try again.
Ruh- Ruh- Ruh-
Nothing.
Open the hood. Let's try the battery.
Clip, clip... clip, clip.
Wait
Wait
Wait
Try again.
Ruh- VROOM!
YAY!!!
We let it run for about 5 minutes and then drive to Kragen.
Sure enough, the battery is on its last legs. So Sharon removes the battery and I buy a new one. We then work to put the new one back in. 'Cept one bolt refuses to tighten. After an hour futsing, we discover it is between 7/16 and 1/2 in size. GRR METRIC!
Thankfully the people at Kragen are nice and loan us the right size part. Ta-Da!
At least it wasn't the alternator!
