Done! The second half of Arashi's talk from Winkup issue December 2009. This is the first part. Also while reading this talk you might want to refer to this Arashi whatever ranking.

In this “Arashi Whatever Ranking” too, the group’s opinions and the readers’ opinions are really different.
Jun: Totally different… I mean, when there is a difference it really stands out. As expected… everyone doesn’t understand much about us, right?
Nino: Um. That’s true, there’re still some of our sides unknown to the readers.
Everyone’s comments are funny too. About "the person you can’t leave alone" for example…
Jun: (reading the comments) “He’ll end up being absorbed into the sea (laugh)”, they said…
The "looks like he’ll drop dead if we leave him alone" too…
Jun: Just how much are people worrying about you!
Ohno: Well…
Nino: This is awesome, Jun kun… you only have 80 votes?
Jun: Truly… Awesome, isn’t it? Is there anyone else whose number of votes is two-digit…? (checking everyone’s vote only to see there’s no other two-digit number) What the? So everyone thinks that it’s fine to leave me alone (laugh)?
Shou: Ohno san is at 1st place with, 2798 votes… amazing. Ah, for the “pretentious lines~”, MatsuJun’s 1st place is amazing too. 4411 votes… This is also a landslide win.
Jun: This is only because the other 4 members do not have images of speaking pretentious lines.
Shou: Look, in my part… “He is suitable to say those pretentious lines and gets all embarrassed (laugh)”, they said. That’s not suitable at all!

Moreover, next to that, they said “If he carefully thinks about doing it, he will be able to”…
Nino: Kuhahaha! What’s more, this is from “Masaki★LOVE” san. (T/N: the reader’s nickname LOL)
Shou: If he carefully thinks about doing it… what are they expecting from me exactly? Like, I’m expected to improve myself?
Aiba: Haha~!
Jun: Well, really… this survey had a lot of different categories.
Shou: Thinking about it… MatsuJun’s 80 votes just then was really amazing. Even the worst is usually 200 votes or so… Amazing. There’s no worry about MatsuJun!
Aiba: In the extreme case, you could say that they really have faith in you.
Nino: For me, I’m a little happy seeing the number of votes Riida has in the “who seems to have the most friends”
Jun: Riida 164 votes (laugh)
Ohno: Kufufu.
Nino: I’m happy to get 417 votes too.
Shou: But I gave Nino’s name as the answer for this?
Nino: True.
Shou: The images are different after all.
Ohno & Aiba: Quite different.
Shou: But then, no matter what, they’re all images about us, right?
Nino: Just that, in this “the person to get married to”, Shou chan is really no.1.
Shou: For this question, I mysteriously replied “me”. This one is so totally nonsensical.

Nino: This comment from Aiba san is nice. “It’s lonely being the second cousin, all of a sudden~”, he said. Really nice. Thinking about it in such a way… Well, Riida has a decisive lead for this position after all (laugh)
Aiba: Uh, why did they have to include the second cousin in this entry anyway?
Nino: If it’s the cousin, it’s still fine, right?
Shou: You only meet your second cousin once a year or so.
Aiba: That is lonely.
Nino: And Riida has a decisive lead.

Shou: Kuhahaha! MatsuJun himself said that “it would be sort of awkward if you meet me after a long time. Seeing each other once in a while is just about right”… (laugh)
Jun: Because with this comment, the section finally would come to an end (laugh).

Jun: I’m happy. “I like Arashi even more than my 3 meals everyday”, they said. (T/N: This “三度メシより好き” phrase is a Japanese idiom, meaning (generally) “is very fond of somebody/something”. The translation here is its literal, word-to-word meaning, I put it down because it sounds much more fun LOL)
We received postcards from readers as young as 7 years old and as old as 65 years old. The width of Arashi’s fan base is really something.

Shou: Wow, have you read the comments for Ohno san in this “who seems to have the most male fans”? “Fishing?”, they said… It’s not fishing, right? The thing Ohno san does is going fishing, isn’t it?
Ohno: Going fishing, indeed (laugh). If you say “fishing”, it means a job.
Nino: The thing you enjoy is going fishing, not fishing… they’d better say it properly.
Ohno: I’m not in fishing!

Jun: It’s quite unexpected… If you read through this all at once, it’s pretty interesting.
Nino: It’s interesting.
Aiba: We’re really thankful when it comes to all of our fans.
By the way, on the opening page, we displayed the photos taken when Arashi san posed as per the readers’ requests. What do you think of these?

Shou kun included an explanation for “Iwo Jima~” so it’s okay, right?
Jun: Talking about “Iwo Jima~”… I have watched the movie, but I don’t think there’s such a scene.
Shou: Wrong… for me, there were many more close-up scenes. But the effect was different…
Aiba: Ah ah~ the ones in which his face was totally black?
Nino: I wanted them to make it even more of a close-up.

This issue is really an Arashi festival issue.
Jun: I’m looking forward to this issue.
Shou: I’m happy. After all, when we returned from Hawaii, the first idol magazine that came to collect our data was WU san. (T/N: WU is short for Winkup in case you haven’t realized) This BEST1 photo of Arashi was from that occasion, right?
Jun: That’s true, I most likely still remember the feeling of the studio from that time.
Nino: From that point on, 10 years has passed by, and now you’re doing this special edition for us.
“History was created from here”, right?
Shou: Nah, from now on we will create more, I think. 10 years after this too, again, the “Iwo Jima~” pose…

Shou: I would want to do poses that no one has seen. Or rather, I would think of some good poses!
Nino: I want to go with “from now on we will go on to make history”. I want to try my best so that I’ll be allowed to take part in a project like this again.

Jun: In this issue’s poster? We wear the same white outfits and do the same poses as we did for the WU issue that featured our debut?

Aiba: This kind of special edition really makes me happy. Because everyone has done so much for us. When I look at the magazine and see that everyone went as far as to send so many postcards to us, I’m delighted.
Nino: Exactly. This is exactly “an Arashi special edition made by the readers”.
Aiba: I want to do this again, this kind of project.
Ohno: Not only the BEST, I want to see the ones that are no good too. The number one no good photo or something.
Nino: That’s right. The minus points too? I want to know 1 or 2 things.
Jun: The number one photo that you hate and such (laugh).
Ohno: I want to see that too. That way, everyone could be honest.
Aiba: No good photos?
Nino: In the survey too, “the number one person you don’t want to go out with” or something.
Aiba: But, the reasons for that… Somehow, I wouldn’t want to hear them.

Jun: But then, it’s good that we’re able to communicate with our fans through these kinds of articles, right?
Aiba: Exactly. Everyone, thank you very much, really.
Shou: After all, the photos from the old days, right now, we don’t get to see them so… Considering that too, I’m very happy. Since we were able to see those photos thanks to this.
That is to say… for these special editions, you’d want to see not only the BEST, but also the no good points. Such composure is great, Arashi san. (X Monster’s comment: nah, I bet they’re simply too tired of listening to all the good points over and over again. They are Arashi the national idols after all LOL)
Shou: That’s because we were brought up by criticisms. Once in a while we would want people to get mad at us too (laugh).
Nino: That’s why we are M. It’s like, “we can handle more than this!” (laugh)
Shou: Recently we haven’t been scolded… Someone please reprove us!

Shou: We are totally staining our own names here.
Jun: It’s better if we are scolded. In all of these readers’ opinions, no one is criticizing us at all. But then, in this, we did spend time together, took the photos, and so made this magazine which will be bought by everyone… Just that is already very precious, right?
Shou: Uh… That’s what Winkup’s all about!
Everyone: You summarized it for all of us (laugh)? From now on, we’ll continue to try our best!
