[ CHAPTER 6 - 1:34AM ]“A-aki-i-na cha-an…”
“Ah! Yui-chan! How’s your trip? Did you arrive safely??”
“Aki-i-na chan…listen c-carefully.”
“Yui-chan? What’s wrong? Why are you stuttering?”
“Thank y-you for e-everything…t-thank you f-for bei-ing a good f-friend to m-me. I-I l-love you…”
“Aw~ Yui-chan~ I love you, too! But why are you stu- Yui-chan?! Hello?? Yui-chan?!” She hung up before Akina was able to finish her question.
“Oh well. I’ll just call her later.” After Yui called, she remembered her gift. She quickly opened Yui’s gift and was surprised at what she saw. She received a scrapbook. She almost cried looking at it because their childhood pictures and memories were there. From the happiest to the saddest memory they had together, it was there! Akina was about to call Yui to thank her but her parents called her out. They said it was something serious that they need to deal with for the rest of their lives. Akina thought that it was about business again, but it wasn’t.
“Akina, dear. Please control yourself as much as possible.” Her mom said, looking a bit teary.
“Sure. What is it? About business?”
“No. It’s about Arakawa-san and his family.” Her dad said with a serious tone that caught Akina’s attention.
“What is it? What happened?” Akina thought that it really is a serious matter since it was about his bestfriend, so she was also serious.
“While on the way to Osaka, Yui-san’s father was almost robbed and hi-jacked. It was ALMOST. Not until Yui-san’s father escaped from the robber and the hi-jacker, the two were acquaintances. Both had a gun with them. So what they did, they shot two of Arakawa-san’s car wheels. The results were, the car crashed in a building. Yui-san’s parents died instantly because of the crash, followed by the falling of some large concrete from the building. Luckily, Yui-san got out. Her parents’ were really crushed, almost unrecognizable, because of the concrete that fell down.” Her dad explained. Tears were slowly falling down from Akina’s eyes.
“Some of the witnesses said that they saw Yui-san talking with someone on her cellphone. She was smiling then, they said.” Her mom can’t bear it any longer, tear flowed out of her eyes.
“That was me…she called me a while ago...she was stuttering and keeps on thanking me…she even told me she loves me…then hung up.” Akina stared blankly at the flower vase in front of her. “What happened after that?” she added. Her mom and dad were looking at each other with an unsure look.
“When did she hung up on you?” her father asked.
“If I’m not mistaken…it was around 1:34AM. Why are you asking?”
“Yui-san died right after she hung up on you. That was around 1:34AM.” Her mom sadly said.
