So I was listening to the radio and I have to ask you all. Is this Dovey Bundles singer really popular? Usually I think all music has a message and is important, but that's absolute rubbish.

How is this song "Lightningbugs" even charting? It's the same midi loop over and over again in Fruity Loops.

Music is subjective, yes, but you can't throw value judgments away, I think.

No, actually. Our last two albums have definitely been pop. But pop doesn't mean throwing away artistry for safeness and being catchy.

Apparently someone thinks it is. It's been number one for weeks now. I don't know what to think.

I don't know, the first time I heard it I was like "yeah, okay, this isn't all that horrible, there are certainly worse things on the radio," but now every time it comes on I just want to hit something.

Any overexposed artist can do that. I just think this Dovey Bundles will probably cause a wave of people exactly the same as she is.

Played, maybe. But the fact that it's being played over much more deserving artists is sad.

Hm. A bit fluffy for my liking, but I wouldn't go so far as to call it 'horrible'.

It's a catchy tune, which the general population usually goes for. And her voice is cute- and rather fitting with the song, which appeals to people as well.

I guess I should have expected it. I don't know why I didn't. Maybe because it is just the most obvious filler fluff song I have ever heard.

I don't know about you Sheryl, but I know my earlier works were probably on the same level as hers.

Sure like to think I've grown a bunch as an artist since then though, and I'm sure Dovey will too.
