White Trash Fried Rice (hotdog fried rice)
It doesn't get much trashier than this folks, at least when it comes to fried rice. I present to you hotdog fried rice. Just make your favorite fried rice recipe and substitute the meat for hotdogs.
I made this because we had rice and hotdogs which both needed to be used up. I have had Spam fried rice and figured since that was OK then hotdogs must be fine too.
1 cup cut up scallions (or you can substitute white onion)
2 big polish sausage hotdogs
1 roughly grated carrot
1 tablespoon grated garlic
2 eggs scrambled. (I put them in a microwave proof bowl with a bit of water and cooked the eggs in the microwave and then broke the eggs up in to the rice)
Sauté' these in about a tablespoon or two of oil.
Add approx. 3-4 cups of cooked cold rice. cook and stir until desired texture and heated through. I also added a bit (approx. 1/4 teaspoon) of 5 spice and then some soy sauce to taste.
