Some days, she felt as if she were living under a microscope, being examined and judged by people she didn’t even know. Worse than the general public’s disdain were the looks from her friends who seemed to view her choice as a personal betrayal.
He wasn’t faring much better. Dinners with his parents were awkward affairs where he was forced to endure head shaking and tongues clicking in disapproval.
But at night, when wrapped in each other’s arms, the rest of the world melted away. No stares. No judgments. Just two people in love.
Together, they would get through this.
