One warm summer evening, dusk was falling upon two young lovers cuddled upon a porch swing overlooking a garden. In the distance, crickets and
bullfrogs sang their songs.
Hermione nodded toward some fireflies in the gloaming. "They use bioluminescence to attract a mate."
"That’s what attracted me to you."
"My bum doesn’t glow," she snorted.
"No, but you are very bright."
"Draco, I never knew that your scowling exterior was hiding such wit."
"You love it."
"You just compared me to bugs."
"You made bugs sound sexy with your big words."
"Sexy bugs?!"
"No!" He tapped her forehead. "Sexy brains."

Again, I ended up writing two versions of this drabble and chose the one I liked best. The alternate version has a slightly different tone.

"They use bioluminescence to attract a mate," Hermione noted the fireflies flickering in the gloaming.
"You make big words sound sexy."
She snorted.
"You scoff, but that’s what attracted me to you."
"The last time I checked, my bum doesn’t glow."
"No, but you are very bright."
"Draco, I never knew that your scowling exterior was hiding such romanticism."
"You love it."
"Yeah, I do," she sighed contentedly.
