Got on FFXI last night and joined a Linkshell xp party synced @ 10, in Ghelsba Outpost. I changed jobs to Scholar, and went to join them. Beabiddy was on Ranger, Kingsofcash was on Black Mage (and later Dragoon), and Jicaud was Beastmaster. Later, when Jicaud left, Fiorenzo joined us on his Summoner.
The XP was decent, I went through a full charge on my Emperor Band, but people were getting a little reckless, which kind of put a damper on things. I'm all for having a little fun, and enjoy goofing off and getting reckless, but not when it puts fellow party members in jeopardy. People kept getting aggro (and deliberately attacking) Warchief Vatgit, who destroyed us twice.
So, I managed to get my Scholar to Level 19, then 18 when we wiped the first time, then 19 again, then 20, then 19 again when we wiped the second time. By that point, I'd had more than enough FDAU, and called it a night.
At least I'm past Valkurm Dunes-level parties. I'll probably solo a bit, do a couple FoV to get 20 back plus some buffer, and then toss my flag up and see what happens in Qufim.
