Huzzah, for Gnome and I have done lots and lots in my bedroom today. Everything was shuffled round (though we did decide we were not big enough/there were not enough of us to play at wardrobe-moving, so not quite everything was moved) and curtains came down and dust sheets went over things...
First of all there was much sanding. And I was wearing a dust mask but as I am only small it was rather too big and very nearly covered my whole face. Gnome was very restrained on the giggling front though, which was vair impressive indeed. It was very dusty work indeed and the orange paint turned a strangely vibrant shade when sanded down, which was a sight to be wondered at... As well as sanding there was also quite a lot of talking about lots and lots of things but mostly Cambridge things and Guidey things, both of which make me very happy indeed.
We had a lunch break at the point where most of the sanding was done & Gnome was introduced to the wonder of dairy-free choc-ice-on-stick type-things. Which are very scrummy indeed. Mwahaha. And then we went and did yet more sanding and when we had sanded everything within reach, we damp-dusted to get rid of the bits of paint and dust and general stuff that was all over everywhere. Then we had to wait for it to dry off (all of about three minutes as it has been very hot here all day) and we could leap along and undercoat everything we had sanded. This was a very splendid game. I ended up with painty feet, Gnome had a painty face, but both of us managed to keep the inbetween bits fairly clean, though our hands did get a little bit painty.
When the brushes were washed it was hometime for la Gnome, and teatime for me. So I have eaten and washed up and am really rather sleepy cos of the much-leaping earlier. But I am very excited because tomorrow I can do another lot of undercoat at least, and possibly even break out the actual paint, depending on timings & movings and so on. But it was all very splendid fun so much huzzah. *bounces off*
