With each passing week, Sungmin began to fall asleep more often, which worried Kyuhyun to no end.

The bear hugs Kyuhyun had once received from the latter had decreased, and the once energetic Sungmin that always greeted Kyuhyun whenever he saw him was starting to fade. Of course, Sungmin still cared for Kyuhyun; however, the times Kyuhyun could actually see Sungmin awake were minimal. He always walked through the front door from his job, enter his bedroom, but only to find Sungmin sleeping peacefully. It was nice Sungmin was getting his rest after fainting from the headache, but all this sleeping...should he be concerned?

Then suddenly he remembered the letter. Kyuhyun still wonders why he didn't just drop the letter the moment he received it and run towards the graveyard. Possibly because Kyuhyun had to attend to Sungmin, and thought that the explanation could've wait. Now was his chance.

After leaving work for a lunch break, he peered into his bedroom to find Sungmin sleeping...again. Kyuhyun's shoulders dropped, hoping he could spend some time with Sungmin, but apparently he couldn't. His eyes wandered towards the side-table to see the envelope, and he immediately perked up. Yes, it was about time, why not go now?

Kyuhyun made his way towards the kitchen to grab a small notepad and a pen, scribbling a message reading: "Needed to go buy some groceries, I'll be back. ♥Kyu" Once finished, he placed the sticky note on to the side table. Kyuhyun glanced at Sungmin, his lips so inviting, and yet he knew better to not take advantage of his boyfriend when he was in pain. Ever so quietly, he slipped out of the bedroom, and started jogging towards Sungmin's grave.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Being here again was not necessarily comforting. Kyuhyun trudged up the hill, looking around at the graves that were scattered. Three months. That's how long it's been since Sungmin had been revived, yet everything looked the same. Even the willow that rested at the top of the hill remained the same. There was only one thing different, and Kyuhyun gaped at it.
He gazed at Sungmin's grave, trying to remember what it exactly looked like months before, however his memory was failing him. Though, he was pretty sure that the incense sticks were supposed to be burnt down a long time ago.

Apparently not.

All the incense sticks were burning as though someone just brought some new ones and lit them, but Kyuhyun was pretty sure the sticks weren't moved. The shocking thing about the incense sticks though, were that the ones up front were all burnt down - the rest still perfectly lit. It was impossible, Kyuhyun thought; all of the incense sticks should've burnt down at the same time. Not only that, but a long time ago.

Kyuhyun shook his head in astonishment. Just what kind of incense sticks were these?

He also pondered at the fact at how did Sungmin get out of the grave? There were no holes in the ground, everything was intact, but he shrugged the question off - there were more important things to be thinking about right now.

There was a ruffling sound coming from above his head, and before Kyuhyun could even look up, there appeared Eeteuk as well as Ryeowook, standing in front of him. He backed up in shock, until he got back his wits to ask what the hell was going on.

"You...what's going on? What's happening to Sungmin?" Kyuhyun asked, and was quickly cut off by Ryeowook.

"This person over here forgot to mention about some vital stuff to you." Ryeowook stated, about to continue until he received a blow to his head, and winced in pain.

"Right...so as I was going to say, yes I forgot to mention something concerning Sungmin's revival. You might as well get comfortable, because the both of us have a lot of explaining to do." Eeteuk said, leaning against the bark of the willow as Ryeowook sat cross-legged on the grass. Kyuhyun obeyed and sat next to Sungmin's tombstone, glancing at the still-burning incense sticks. "As you probably know, these are not your ordinary incense sticks. They bring mortals to life after lighting them." Eeteuk started off.

"These incense sticks were first discovered by one of the higher-ranked angels. They discovered a large quantity of them, just lying randomly in our realm. No one knew what they did, and no one never actually touched or even used them...until one of the angels accidentally broke them. It was horrifying. Inside of those incense sticks are contracts. Contracts with the Devil. We knew that after one of the Archangels did some investigating.

These contracts...they were apparently manufactured solely for mortal uses. We still don't understand why...whoever...dropped them in our realm. Probably, because they thought we would distribute them to the mortals since we have better connection with them. And oddly enough, boxes of incense sticks were starting to disappear only to realize that someone was dropping them into Earth. The ones you received were the last box, so we're happy that we finally managed to get rid of them, but...the contract itself is not exactly a great one."

"The contracts state the contractor who lights them will have their soul split in half in order to revive the dead they're attempting to bring back to life." Kyuhyun's jaw dropped in utter shock, and felt as though his heart really did split in half; half of him was missing? As well as in Sungmin? He's starting to wonder how he didn't even feel that. "This contract only lasts as long as how many incense sticks you used, which was why I told you to use all twelve incense sticks instead of one. By now, you've probably already guessed that each stick represents a month - meaning three months have passed since the contract has been initiated. Once the contract expires, there is a 50/50 chance that either the person who's been revived will remain alive, or resume dead."

"How one can assume that they will stay alive is if nothing happens to the person who's been revived. However, in your boyfriend's terms, he's getting an attack of headaches which..." Ryeowook's voice trailed off, and Kyuhyun realized what he was going to say. Tears prickled in his eyes as he realized just what might happen to Sungmin once all the incense sticks are burnt down. "There is hope though. Sungmin can remain alive if you break off the contract."

"Break off the contract? How?" Kyuhyun asked, paying more attention than usual.

"We believe that the contract can be broken off if you break all the incense sticks that are lit." Eeteuk answered, and before Kyuhyun could even feel just a little relieved, Eeteuk continued, "However, there's an issue with that. Once the sticks are taken away from the burial site or broken, the contractor will die within a 30-minute span." Kyuhyun felt sick to the pits of his stomach.

"Then...then...what's happening to Sungmin, do you know?" Kyuhyun murmured, he felt really depressed after hearing that he would die if he wanted to save Sungmin. Ryeowook decided to answer.

"Currently, from what we know, your boyfriend is getting headaches, because the Devil is currently entering his mind - "

"WHAT?!" Kyuhyun shouted in shock; something was in Sungmin? Now that...is scary, just thinking about it.

"Yes...as I was going to say, the Devil is in Sungmin. After all, it's in charge of placing your soul into him properly, but sometimes it likes to...do more than what it's suppose to do." Ryeowook finished, playing with the blades of grass.

"Meaning?"

"Kyuhyun...we think the Devil is destroying Sungmin's brain. Not only that, but just everything - his vital organs, and even the heart. If this keeps up, then probably by the sixth month, it might've already taken complete control over Sungmin." Eeteuk grimly stated, avoiding contact with Kyuhyun because he really did feel guilty. Kyuhyun gaped, and felt his heart wrench; he never knew he would have to put up with this. "Kyuhyun...we can't promise you that Sungmin will kill someone." Eeteuk added.

"...There...has to be a way to prevent this from happening. I don't want Sungmin to shed blood, I don't...want him to die." Kyuhyun choked out as he buried his head into his hands, attempting to stop the tears from flowing out of his eyes.

"Sorry Kyuhyun, only breaking the contract will prevent your boyfriend from dying." With that said, Kyuhyun watched the two angels vanish before his eyes, leaving him alone, surrounded by the dead. And if he wanted to save Sungmin, he would be one of them.

He stared for a long while at nothing. He thought about everything for what seemed like hours. To die or to watch your beloved die, that was the question. Kyuhyun didn't know the answer to that yet, but he had a feeling that he would get it soon. Now was not the time to think about it; he already felt as though he died. Died inside his heart.

Most importantly, what should he tell Sungmin? Nothing or all? Sungmin did deserve to know about this, but would he flip out or would he break down in tears? Kyuhyun didn't know, and he was very afraid to find out. In the end, Kyuhyun concluded he would tell Sungmin when the time was right...just not now. Yes, he'll make every minute worth it - the timer starts when he gets home.

Noticing the sun slowly crawling towards horizon, Kyuhyun got up from the tombstone, and ran towards his house.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Kyuhyun expected to find Sungmin asleep in his room once more, but he decided to check up on him anyway. Entering the front door, he delayed the check-up just in case Sungmin would check if he really did 'buy some groceries', so after several minutes, he slipped into the bedroom...to be greeted with a warm hug.

"I thought you promised to never leave me..." Sungmin murmured into his chest, and Kyuhyun felt as though his heart and everything of him just melted right then and there. He was awake.

Make every minute worth it, Kyuhyun told himself.

With that thought aside, Kyuhyun cupped Sungmin's cheeks, and crashed his lips into the latter's. He announced a surprised moan, but for it to be drunk by Kyuhyun's tongue. Painfully slow, Kyuhyun lead Sungmin to the mattress. Every. minute. worth it. That was his plan.

As Sungmin fell gracefully on top of the soft mattress, Kyuhyun's hand snaked up into Sungmin's shirt; the other entwining into the other's hair. He followed suit as he wound his arms tightly around Kyuhyun's neck. So many limbs were moving about: Kyuhyun tasting every inch of Sungmin's cavern, head turning in angles, and feeling every inch of Sungmin's skin. Both delicious and quite soft. Sungmin wrapped his legs around Kyuhyun's waist, gripping tighter, tighter as though they would fall off the face of earth in the next second.

Warmth circulated around the couple, moans and whimpers were exchanged - it made everything just that much better. Kyuhyun managed to stop himself from destroying Sungmin's mouth with every ounce of will power, and ran a tongue down the side of Sungmin's jaw. The latter closed his eyes; mouth parted open and began to grip at Kyuhyun's shirt to distract himself. He couldn't take it much longer as Kyuhyun began to mark him, red blooming on his vanilla-like skin, only for the pain to be dowsed by the kisses Kyuhyun would press against them. Sungmin began making work on both of their shirts, pulling them off; Kyuhyun was reluctant to move, but complied nonetheless.

And as soon as Kyuhyun resumed position, they both held back a moan in the back of their throats. This friction, this warmth, the fog of lust in their minds blocked all coherent thoughts. Kyuhyun ran a slender finger down Sungmin's structure, both hands gripping tightly at Sungmin's hips; so so soft to touch.

They stared into each other's eyes for a long while, exchanging secret messages that only the both of them were allowed to read and reply. Shortly after did Sungmin get impatient, and began to lift himself to meet Kyuhyun's ear, and nipped at it. Sucking, biting, marking, claiming. Yes, he wanted Kyuhyun oh so badly, he wanted him now, because he was afraid he would accidentally fall asleep before they get to the good stuff.

Kyuhyun smirked as the other whispered inaudible pleas into his ear, and pressed himself further into his lover and the mattress. His mouth parted in pleasure as he felt both arousals barely brush past each other. Lingering around Sungmin's own ear, Kyuhyun teasingly ran a tongue in the shell of his ear, and Sungmin couldn't help but to release a clear, audible moan - or possibly a mix of both a moan and Kyuhyun's name.

"Sungmin..." His voice lathered with such lust as Kyuhyun whispered into Sungmin's ear, "You're mine, no one can have you, no one can touch you. You're my property." To emphasize, he made sure Sungmin felt the growing erection, hips rocking against the fabric.

Sungmin made work with both of their pants.
