2019 / 50000 words. 4% done!

Yeah. I'm having trouble finding motivation this year, so we'll see if I actually reach 50k. I don't really know where I'm going with this plot anyway. More so than usual, I mean. It kind of sneaked up on me this year, so I did virtually no plotting.

Yay! I did it! I finally finished NaNoWriMo yesterday, about twenty minutes before midnight. According to the NaNoWriMo word counter, I finished with 50,001 words. Ew. I inadvertently discovered that someone's adapting Y: the Last Man for the big screen. Hasn't anyone learned that comic books/graphic novels usually make crappy movies? For NaNo, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to write my urban fantasy idea. For one thing, I just want to get it out of my head and NaNo will force me to focus on it. My portfolio presentation went well. I had to explain a few things as I went along, but I forgot the major thing, which is that Speak is in first person, so the reader only knows a student as IT (I won't spoil it in case anyone wants to read it, which I highly recommend) until the very end. I have exactly 10 147 words. My NaNo has 10 147 words and it's only day three. Hell, day three isn't even over yet.

I think I might have to start an outline for a second NaNo in case I finish this one on or before the fifteenth.

It's midnight, which means that day one of NaNo is over. It's off to a pretty good start. At the end of day one, I have 3455 words and 6% of my novel finished. Pretty productive for a first day!
