Life IS pain, Highness

The story of every human being has pain in it. Pain is part of life, but not all of it. It serves a necessary function. It's not meant to become our whole story; it's meant to be the goad that moves us on to better things. We can choose to live in our pain, holding tight to every hurt, every slight, every perceived injustice inflicted upon us. Or we can accept that pain is part of being alive, and not let it define us. We can choose to move past the pain in to whatever joy we can find.

Done is done. What is, is. Past wrongs are past and can't be undone - time only runs one way. If you choose to hold on to old pain, you stay forever wronged. No good is served by holding on to what has already happened, you simply stay miserable, forever hurt. Every new pain is piled on top of the pain already held so close to your heart, and each new small pain is magnified out of all reason. If you focus on your anger, your anger is all you are going to see. If you focus on your pain, it blocks your view of all else.

You can decide to be happy instead. No one can do it for you. You have to do it for yourself. THIS is what letting go is really about.
