I've been watching the new episodes of Lost, a show that I'd all but given up on because of its constant ever-tightening-circle of travel, the incurious characters, and the general feeling of malaise, and I'm rather surprised that they're actually worth the investment of time. Lost - the truth about the island revealed...!

It seems that former Doctor Christopher Eccleston has joined the cast of Heroes starting with episodes airing in January. Unlike the bit about Sean Bean signing on to play Paul Sylar, one of the bad guys (actually played by Zachary Quinto, who made his first appearance in Monday's episode, swathed in shadows), this is actually the real deal. I dug out my old Logitech Wingman Force, which is a real monolith of a force-feedback joystick, and fired up Wacky Races -- I don't usually play games, but once in a while I'll trot out something like this. I think my viewing habits are starting to shake out a little now, as the new season gradually progresses, although I'm not entirely certain which shows I'll drop and which I'll add over the coming weeks.

Lost fired off its third season premiere last night, opening with a rather startling and nervy scene of a group of people having a suburban book club meeting.
