Watching The Company on TNT a while back prompted me to find a cheap copy of the Robert Littell novel so I could see just what had been left out, and what sort of detail was involved. Heroes is back, looking good and setting up new storylines while continuing bits of old ones. While I'm sure it could have been better (Ghu knows the Irish accents at the end were hopeless, seeming like attempts to do Dublin -- certainly not Cork accents -- and coming nowhere near) it seemed like a good start. It's a Monday for endings -- Heroes wraps up its first season tonight, and 24 finally drags itself to a close, its devastated corpse drooling fluids from all orifices like a victim in a H.P Lovecraft story. I am locked in as a fan of Heroes, but I think we all knew that was coming. I've reached the point of being frustrated at having to wait a week for the next episode -- worse than that, after next week's episode there's a gap until the end of January. It seems that former Doctor Christopher Eccleston has joined the cast of Heroes starting with episodes airing in January. Unlike the bit about Sean Bean signing on to play Paul Sylar, one of the bad guys (actually played by Zachary Quinto, who made his first appearance in Monday's episode, swathed in shadows), this is actually the real deal.
