I had a wonderful New Year's Eve, with my computer connected to the Zoom filk celebration from when my New Zealand pokemon friends started saying Happy New Year to when it ended. I didn't hear most of the first 7 hours or so because of the need to sleep, but still, falling asleep and waking to friends celebrating was pretty cool.

December has, so far, been very down for me. It's hard to find the focus to do things, even things I enjoy.

Some of it is winter. Winter is always my worst season; the asthma doesn't do well in the cold, and as I get older my fingers and toes are cold and the skin gets too dry. The allergies have always been worse in winter too. And this ( Read more... )

I had some tomato plants that sprouted very late last year. I'm not sure why I was still watering those pots inside, but I was, and once they sprouted, well, they were alive and mine to care for. It was clear they wouldn't grow big enough to give me tomatoes if I put them outside, so I moved them into bigger pots and let them grow inside ( Read more... )

We took Amitiel to the vet again today for a blood pressure recheck. It's still a little high, but no longer dangerously so. He has lost some weight, even though he's still happily eating. It's clear he's getting close to leaving us, but not how soon that will be.

He purred and purred again for the vet and his assistant.

Today, life is no focus and too much time in the bathroom. Probable culprit, by timing of onset, is tasting a bit of "the very last bottle anywhere" of a friend's most favorite wine ever.  Maybe two teaspoons worth.  *sigh*

So, we have this room off the TV room, either a very large closet or a very small room. The ancient carpet in it resisted being pulled when we moved in, so we left it there.
