Is This a Date?

Jul 31, 2006 19:52

Who: Kairi, Seamus
Where: Gryffindor Commonroom, before going to Hogsmead
Warnings: Hooking up! Cuteness.

Yes, I've decided that I'm going to shove quotes from the RP into the LJ cut instead of the title. >D HAHA.

Seamus stood awkwardly in the Gryffindor common room. It wasn't that he was nervous, but Rufus had brought up an interesting point with him before - what was he planning on doing? He was going to "show her around Hogsmeade." BORING! The brunette wanted to do more than that. He wanted to make her like him. It was just... his big ideas were feeling rather small this particular morning.

He was all ready. He didn't look spectatular or anything. In fact, he looked rather plain. He was wearing normal clothes and a beanie. He probably should have worn a scarf, too, but... Well, who needed a scarf, anyway?

That wasn't important. What was important was Kairi arriving. Seamus kept a look out for her. He was going to make today a great day. He was going to.

Kairi walked anxiously down the girl's dorm steps. With every step she took, she became more and more excited.

She didn't dress up too much, just a pair of jeans and her favorite pink long-sleeved tee. Should she have dressed up more...?

Kairi's worries were no more when she saw Seamus standing there, looking rather awkward. She ran down the remaining wood steps and went over to the boy.

"Hey, Seamus!" Kairi smiled.

"Yo!"

A grin appeared on Seamus's face. He was glad Kairi didn't decide to back out last minute or anything. When the brunette gazed at her, he noticed that she looked a lot prettier than she usually did.

And that was saying something.

"How're you?" he asked, making small talk.

Kairi liked Seamus's grin.

"I'm...fine." She grinned in return. "So...um...are you looking forward to our dat--UH, I mean, our...trip to Hogsmeade?"

Kairi's face turned pink. She was making a fool out of herself. She couldn't let Seamus know she was nervous! He could think that she didn't even want to go on the date in the first place...but, Kairi really, really liked him.

Seamus found it difficult not to laugh. Not because of Kairi's actions, but because she was so cute. He took her hand in his.

"I've been looking forward to it since y'decided to go with me," he said, a faint color coming over his cheeks. His fingers intertwined with hers. He hoped everyone around could see him.

Kairi's heart shot out of her chest when Seamus held her hand. He was so...warm.

She blushed and turned a deep shade of red rivaling her own hair's hue. "I've been...really excited, too, Seamus." Kairi smiled at their hands. She was too shy to look up into his eyes.

"Listen, Seamus...I'm...well...kind of nervous, if you haven't noticed." Kairi giggled slightly.

Seamus wasn't nervous. He wasn't nervous because he just wasn't that type of person. He was instead very happy - almost giddy. He looked at her obviously flustered hair, noticing that it was a very nice shade of red.

"Don' worry about it," he said happily, squeezing her hand a bit. "Let's just have lotsa fun today, okay?"

Kairi smiled brightly.

"Yeah! I'm really excited about this!" She laughed.

Kairi wouldn't let her nervousness get in the way of this date. It would hopefully be perfect. That's how she dreamed it to be. But...

"Hey, Seamus, is this...a date? You know, because...Iwasjustwondering." She finished quickly.

When the question came up, Seamus felt his cheeks burn. He hoped he didn't look like a moron - well, part of him did, but only to Kairi. He gave a slick nod.

"I was sorta hoping it was," he mumbled, then changed his mind about this entire thing. "Actually, I was sorta wonderin' if... you'd want to..."

He almost found himself stumbling with his words - until he remembered just what kind of person he was.

"...be me girlfriend," he said flatly. Even if she said no, he at least risked it. That made him not really afraid of her response. The small smile remained on his face.

Kairi was surprised. She knew this could potentially be a date...but for Seamus to ask her out, it was sudden. Nevertheless, Kairi really, really liked him.

Kairi's smile grew larger with each passing second. "Of course. I'd love to be your girlfriend, Seamus." The courage finally came to her. She jumped to her toes and quickly gave the boy a light peck on the cheek.

Kairi realized what she had done. "Oh! Um, sorry, if that was like...sudden." She blushed, completely embarrased.

It took a lot of willpower for Seamus not to start snogging her right then and there. But he respected her, and so he decided snogging could wait until later, when they were more comfortable. He wanted to get to know her. He blushed a bit more when she kissed him on the cheek. She really was adorable.

"No way!" he announced. And then he smiled, feeling happier than he had when he'd gotten a good mark in Snape's class. "Actually, I think I like that."

He returned the favor and kissed her on the cheek. And then, with a big dopey grin on his face, he let her outside.
