Computer.

D came over again yesterday, and figured out that the problem I was having with the computer not recognising my HDD was because two of the places you can plug it in aren't recognised by the intel controller. Or something?

He changed the plugs, and it worked. XD The weird thing was... I totally changed where it was plugged in, I just don't understand. Whatever! It works now!

Here are some of the tweaks I've had to do so far: (So I can remember how to UNdo them. .__.)

To get rid of the incredibly annoying ring that appeared every time I clicked with my wacom stylus, I tried to go to control panel>pen and touch and then disabled the press and hold function, but that didn't get rid of the ring when I just clicked.

I wound up going this route, by typing in gpedit.msc into the search bar and then following their directions.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I can use my buttons for things now? I'm trying to right click, and it's not working. >:I

I also turned off that damned tablet PC menu thing that kept popping up, because I DO NOT NEED THAT. Stupid thing. It's gone now!

And my GOSH, windows has 'sort by type' back up as one of the default options in their context sensitive right click menu. Thank you thank you thank you. I hated not having it! I will hardly ever want to sort by any of the million things that they had up as default in vista, but I use 'type' all the time!

I'd also really love something that would let me have different images on both of my monitors, or something that would let me stretch an image across both. The difficulty is that both of them have quite different resolutions, so it's a bit weird.

Oh! The other thing I wanted to mention was how to install Flash commands, because I couldn't remember. go to c:/users/(username)/appdata/local/adobe/flash (ver)/(language)/Configuration/Commands and then drop them in there. if you can't see the appdata folder, and I certainly couldn't, go to control panel>folder options>view>show hidden files and folders. I think it's off by default.

Then you'll be able to see the appdata folder, and continue along that long long string of folders to the home for all of your commands.

And next year, I kind of want to go to Brony con. We'll see how money is, and where I'm living, and if I'm still interested in the whole thing... but I think I would have had a blast.

Oh! And the fireworks were Fantastic! They had smilie face ones! SMILIE FACES in the sky! And also ones that exploded like normal fireworks, and then in the centre there was another explosion of shimmery glittery stuff, and then the parts that had exploded out before exploded into more of the little shimmery bits, and it was really pretty.

Though a group did come in front of us, and use a Canadian flag as a blanket to sit on. Now... I'm pretty much fine with using a towel with the design of the flag on it as something, because I do see that more as a matter of national pride than something insulting. But an actual flag? That's a flag. So I told them that maybe next year they should use something else, was promptly told to 'f-off', let them know that I was judging them, and left.

Also, I took pictures. I will upload those sometime, it was crazy.

And then this happened, which threw an ENORMOUS monkey wrench into the TTC express plans. I was down there with my room mate R, who had hurt her ankle the night before. So now we were hobbling along trying to figure out just where the buses were stopping and loading people. Not the first two stops we tried, and then we were told to try elsewhere, since the street was cut off.

So we walked north to Queen, hoping to catch a streetcar. NO LUCK, nothing was moving at all. So we walked backtracked along where the express buses were coming from, hoping to find a place that they were stopping. We got to Coxwell, and decided to wait on a coxwell bus. Whatever, it would be crowded, and wouldn`t come as frequently, but at least it would come, right?

Well, we waited, and then a police car stopped and told us that we might as well go up north to Gerrard, because that's the next place the bus was going to stop. We walked north, and found a pizza place. Both of us were famished by this point, so we bought a slice, and sat down to eat it. AND THEN THE BUS DROVE BY.

ARRRRGH.

After we finished, we waited for a queen bus, but every bus passing was an express or something different, and none were picking people up. R checked on her phone, and said that the coxwell bus was due in six minutes, so we decided to take THAT, but then I saw an express bus actually letting people on.

Heart heart heart. (My keyboard is currently french, you'll have to imagine the hearts.)

We made it back home! And met our other room mate just south of our house. She had also had a great time (because the fireworks were really beautiful) so all in all, a decent night.
