OH MAN best part of John Carter and I forgot to mention!
Did I mention I went over to marii_chan's on monday to watch John Carter? I did. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't.... Well, she put it well. The story did not justify the amount of money put into it, it just really wasn't that strong.
I know, back in the day, having the white guy come and save everyone was cool. It still happens *coughAvatarcough* but I'd like to think that we're recognising how stupid a trope it is. So making a movie that was again a white guy saving everyone... Well.
The acting was a bit wooden, but the aliens were animated really well. I guess they were actually animated, not mocaped, so that explains part of the price.
The funny thing is... I never even thought about the aliens. They had a lot of nice, subtle movement, but I just accepted it. I've got to be more aware of these things!
