The other day at work 2 of my colleagues were discussing how they think it's unhygienic to wash dishes by hand. They use a dishwasher instead (mmm squirting dirty water at high pressure to bake on all the food residue, but I digress).

No! I'm not really back at work. It's just an illusion. I'm actually asleep in my bed. People aren't really asking me questions about stuff. What's undeniably true is that I'm not doing any work. Very odd, seeing a swan walking across the pond at work. Ice. Then it reaches the edge of the ice and awkwardly moves towards the water. It flops onto its belly, perched on the edge of the ice sheet, and pushes itself off, kicking about with its legs until it can take up the noble, traditional swan-floating position.

Tomorrow afternoon Filmhouse 1 is showing the 5,000 Fingers of Dr T at 1pm and Hunger (the Steve McQueen Irish hunger strike movie, not the lesbian vampires [the real Steve McQueen, not Terrence McQueen the actor]) at 3pm. Interesting. I just noticed that in the gents toilets at work there's a large white device high on the wall next to the door frame that emits a puff of air freshener every 10 minutes and 24 seconds. The anticipation of what it might do when the timer reached zero made me stand in front of it, but I managed to duck when it sprayed its deodorising
