Is everyone as excited as I am about next month?!

I'm doing a fair bit of pen and paper plotting this year, and so far I've lots of different scenarios which hopefully will result in many words.  What do you use to plot your novel?  And do you find it helps, or do you get to November and just dismiss the preparation altogether?

So, we are now nearing the end! Or we should be, anyway. I'm getting close to the conclusion of my plot but I'm not entirely happy. There are various holes in my plots-- nothing huge, but doubtless things that would be noticed by readers.

Are you plagued with plotholes? Will you go to fill them back in later, or do you try to fix them as you go?  ( Read more... )

So, wrimos! At the time of posting, we are nearly halfway though our NaNo time. Here's a question for you:

How much has your plot changed since the 31st October?

Has your plot held up? Have small bits of it changed? Or perhaps big, important bits? Have you ditched your first idea or totally rehashed it? Did you even have a plot to begin with?

The characters stay in my head, and when I'm doing other things - washing up, feeding the chooks, scoffing Mr Kipling's fruit mince pies - I'm thinking about them.  I wonder what they'll be doing next, or I'll consider one of their recent interactions and think about what I could add.  It's great, because then, when I get to write again, I've got ( Read more... )
