English Breakfast (Twinnings)

Fine black tea expertly selected from Kenya, Indonesia, Assam, Malawi and China.
English Breakfast is our most popular tea. To create this well-balanced blend, we carefully select the finest teas from five different regions, each with its own unique characteristics. Tea from Kenya and Malawi provides the briskness and coppery-red colour while Assam gives full-body and flavour. The robustness from these regions is complemented by the softer and more subtle teas from China and Indonesia. The combination of these varieties yields a complex, full-bodied, lively cup of tea that is perfect any time of day.

I made two pots of this last night and still can't say very much. It's well rounded- so well rounded that it's not very striking in any way. No bitterness, not much astringency, not sweet... in other words, a very good general tea that will go with just about anything. Don't get me wrong- it's not a bad tea, it's quite a nice tea without being in the least bit striking. I'll drink up what I have but I won't replace it- if I want a nice basic tea, I'd rather have Prince of Wales.
