Day 2 off
Because I'm going to have to go fill in at another store, it worked out that I had to have two days off together - yesterday and today. My boss asked me what I would do with so much time... and I immediately told him I was going to take Emily to get her eyes checked and new glasses. It's long overdue- and besides, he was making noises about calling me in anyway and getting me approved for overtime, so being out of the house (and away from the 'phone) seemed like a really good idea.
I'm also still working on the Oz books- volume 6 now- but still no pictures. It's just rebinding and I'm not decorating yet so there's not much to see. I'm putting bands on the spines and I mismeasured one of them so they're a bit off from one another when they're sitting on the shelf. If it bothers me too terribly, I may have to take that one apart and fix it.
I did take Emily for new glasses but they couldn't have both pairs ready yesterday so I'll pick them up today. So nice to be able to do that! I want to get Mom in but she's resisting. She can't half see and she's been told twice she need cataract surgery and she's resisting on the excuse that it will take up too many days for me and be too hard for her. You know, I'd jump through any number of hard hoops if I couldn't read and there was a way for me to get it back!
I've been wasting a lot of time looking at tea cups lately. The upshot of this is that I have a(nother) new tea trio- Minton pattern H4405 (it should have a better name!)
I don't have a lot of information on this one- anything anyone knows and can tell me would be nice.
And I've found a couple of other trios I'd really like to have:
Royal Doulton Gnomes
Royal Doulton Pipes of Pan
I know I already have the Burleighware Pan... but that's part of why I'd like this one! It can't have been that common a theme- so maybe a trio of all the non-cartoon Pan patterns I can find would be nice. So far, I can't find any others.
Ok- back to binding so I can get as ahead on Oz as I can while I have real time off!
