39 and a day...

39 and a day eh? Well, that was a nice birthday.

It started off with a company day. The entire of Blitz games gathered at the local cinema for presentations from the management and the various teams. I was initially going to take yesterday off but I'm glad I went as it helped aswage some worries that I've had of late. There was also some BIG news on a license we've landed (which I obviously can't talk about). So that was nice. The whole company then retired to the local golf club for a barbeque. I, however opted to slink off and spend the afternoon with my wife and children. I don't think anyone will mind - I doubt if anyone missed me.

I had quite a nice birthday haul too. The art of the Narnia films (so-so films, superb concept art) and the Clone Wars visual Guide (awful film, terrific visuals). The complete, illustrated Sherlock Holmes, My Neighbor Totoro (adding to my collection of Miyazaki favourites (only Laputa to go) and the complete Firefly DVD collection (WHY has it taken me this long!?) I also got a new mobile phone which is the smallest, thinnest thing I've ever seen! I also got the usual £15 in vouchers from work which I'm sure will come in useful for the new 'classic' range of Doctor WHO action figures in Woolworths.

I rounded off the day with a chip supper, Thorntons chocolates, and episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation and Space:1999.

40 next year. Where did it all go?

birthday, family
