Yep. I need sleep, time to read, and basically to just find normal again.
My work weeks are really busy, and I spend all day in front of a computer either setting up spreadsheets or solving problems for donors. I do get phone calls, but the percentage of the time I speak to donors is far less than the amount of time I write to donors.
So I use Saturday as my day to get back to me. To settle into my own head and what I want or need to do. It really helps.
The visit to the retina specialist went fine. I was not a big fan of the guy. For one thing, I was not thrilled that he never put on gloves. Secondly, he had to press very hard on my eye, and I could feel his fingernails on my skin. They hurt and the whole thing just seemed wrong in a time of a pandemic. I noticed no one in his office was wearing gloves, though they did wear masks.
The good news is I have no retinal tears and everything is fine. Good, because I hope to never have to go back to him.
He may be the best retina guy in town, but I'm not a big fan.
Pat and I came home and slept from 6 until 9. We got up, ate something light, then he went back to napping and I read and messed with my computer. I guess I had managed to get a bit slept out for the moment.
Tonight we're going to our friend Christina's for a bonfire and music. Some friends are coming who play guitars and they like to play and sing and we all get to join it. It should be a nice evening.
