Another quick one tonight, as I've spent the last two hours installing and fiddling around with Paint.net, a Photoshop-ish freeware that you can download at
www.getpaint.net. It's pretty awesome so far - more than enough to meet my admittedly slight needs, anyway. Big ups to that one guy that none of you know, who was kind enough to tell me about it.
Below the cut is the first piece of original art I bought at the Baltimore Comic Con this year, scanned twice on my itsy bitsy scanner and then stitched together in Paint.net. This one's by Barbara Tarr, a student at the Maryland Institute College of Art (
www.mica.edu). They had a table at the con this year, and Barbara was kind enough to draw this for Trelina and I... even though she's far too young to remember the cartoon.
Despite my best intentions to the contrary, I picked up quite a bit of original art at this year's con. I'll post more as I get them scanned.
(And in case you didn't know, you can see most of my collection at
my Comicartfans page.)
