I did not need to see that.

Why is it that nudists are rarely the people you want to see naked? I saw a guy a few weeks ago wearing a t-shirt advertising a nudist colony (ironic much?), and it definitely made me never want to go there. I think David Sedaris had an essay about that in one of his books. He went to a nudist colony and was horrified by everyone. If he had been in Inman Square last night, he would have felt smug ... and maybe slightly queesy. Apparently, it's legal to be naked on stage, but you just can't strip. It was just kind of... awkward...like watching a train wreck. I drank a couple of beers, but it didn't help. This experience also reinfoced Katy and Dinny's theory about free comedy that originated when we were in London. We had no money since we were students, so we'd seek out these free comedy shows, and they would always be horrendous. Once Katy got up on stage as a volunteer and was ten times funnier than any of the comedians. ("What do you call your hair color?" "LORENZO!") I think I went up on stage as a volunteer during their bit about domestic abuse. Alas, we continue making the same mistakes over and over again....

Even scarier than the nudity was my dream last night that I was pregnant and having my crazy alcoholic ex-boyfriend's baby! My water broke in the dream, but the baby was showing no signs of coming out. Weirdly, in the dream my mother wanted me to get back in touch with R because he was the father of the baby, but I was like, "Dude, he's crazy!"
