I am going to Russell Sage next year. I have to tell you, if you haven't already visited, you have to. I haev never in my life fallen so amazingly deeply in love with anywhere like I did with RSC. Not only is it one of the top schools in the Northeast and has a gorgeous campus, but it is an extremely close-knit community. You feel like part of a wonderful, loving family. There is a sense of sistership and comraderie amongst the students and alumni that is unparalleled. I have seen women I'd never met before in banks, supermarkets, etc wearing a Sage ring and told them I was going to be attending RSC next year and they immediately launched into reminiscence of their wonderful times there. Most of them hugged me. Haha. Anyway, if you'd like to add me..I'd be glad to talk to you about it more. Especially next year. I know talking to current students was an important part of my decision to go there. Good luck and I hope to see you at RSC!! <3

Oh, and if you're curious, this is the review I wrote of RSC for campusreviews. You should make a new post with your own review. Lure more people into the cult. :p
(Really, it's just that awesome. It is.)
And another "Oh, and..."
Oh, and, in case anyone's wondering about the "top schools" thing, it's actually pretty true. It's usually right around #5 on the list of "Best Comprehensive Colleges-Bachelor's: North" list. Again, it's not Harvard, but you don't have to be in order to be good, and RSC has really taught me that.
I had never heard of Russell Sage before last year's Hartford National College Fair. I was looking at the list of colleges that would be attending, saw RSC, and thought "What the heck is that?" So I did some research, found myself not overly excited or anything but still intrigued, and decided I would definitely talk to their representative at the fair.
At first, I felt almost like it was a mandatory politeness type of thing. I didn't really care - I wanted to go to Smith or Wellesley or somewhere "good" (oh, what was I thinking?!) - but I had said I would talk to them and the counselor was just so nice, I actually listened to her. I asked her if RSC was really committed to women's education or not, and she laughed at first and then told me all about the investment, the hiring practices, the women's studies courses, and just how dedicated they are to women's education in general. I've doubted it with other schools, even the "top name" ones; I have never doubted it with RSC

One of the best signs of strength at a women's college is building, and they definitely have it. They have a gorgeous new building where there are faculty offices, classrooms, dining spaces, etc. They're one of the few smaller women's colleges that can really talk about their donations and endowment. No, they're not Harvard, but they're remarkable strong. And you can't beat the price

lol, I had my first visit on a miserable, cold, rainy day too! And I still just...knew I was coming home, you know? And you know what else? RSC is a world-renouned school, and yet I had never heard of it! I thought it was just some little shitty girl's school. After I did some research I was literally bowled over by the amazing reputation and credentials of the place.
And you wanna talk about personal touch...I almost cried when they sent me a Birthday card, lol.

Hahaha, same! I was like, "Aw man, it's gonna be just nursing courses." And then I started researching and had a major "Whaaaa?" moment. How they don't have better name recognition is beyond me.
And they actually SIGN the things they send. It's not that automated and/or photocopied stuff. So much love!
