I am going to Russell Sage next year. I have to tell you, if you haven't already visited, you have to. I haev never in my life fallen so amazingly deeply in love with anywhere like I did with RSC. Not only is it one of the top schools in the Northeast and has a gorgeous campus, but it is an extremely close-knit community. You feel like part of a wonderful, loving family. There is a sense of sistership and comraderie amongst the students and alumni that is unparalleled. I have seen women I'd never met before in banks, supermarkets, etc wearing a Sage ring and told them I was going to be attending RSC next year and they immediately launched into reminiscence of their wonderful times there. Most of them hugged me. Haha. Anyway, if you'd like to add me..I'd be glad to talk to you about it more. Especially next year. I know talking to current students was an important part of my decision to go there. Good luck and I hope to see you at RSC!! <3

Oh, and Cedarcrest has a nice campus and all, but it's really snarky and all around a very negative atmosphere.

YES. Yes yes yes. You take one step onto that campus and you're sold.

Will write another comment, but YES. :D

Oh, and if you're curious, this is the review I wrote of RSC for campusreviews. You should make a new post with your own review. Lure more people into the cult. :p

(Really, it's just that awesome. It is.)

And another "Oh, and..."

Oh, and, in case anyone's wondering about the "top schools" thing, it's actually pretty true. It's usually right around #5 on the list of "Best Comprehensive Colleges-Bachelor's: North" list. Again, it's not Harvard, but you don't have to be in order to be good, and RSC has really taught me that.

Now that I would admittedly need to question. Wellesley, Smith, Mount Holyoke, Bryn Mawr, Barnard...that's five right there. Top five in which category? I don't doubt that it's in one of the categories, but overall, probably not.

I don't remember where I read that...I'll try and find it and link it for you! I think they had different criteria than ususal. Like...student satisfaction accounted for 20% of the scale.

*nods* On lists of things like student happiness, affordability, diversity, community involvement, etc., it's usually the smaller women's colleges. That would make more sense to me.

I just thought of soemthing else...I went for an overnight stay and I was amazed that whenever I walked around the campus, there were always people waving and yelling hello to eachother and coming up to me and being friendly and I was just like "wow..people like eachother here..WOW!" lol

Yeah, I saw that too, even on a rainy day. :) Students also seemed to want to talk to prospectives and would make the first move, which is the total opposite of most schools. The students I ran into kept encouraging me to come.

My mother ended up having a long conversation with one woman who was back at Sage for her Master's after having completed her Bachelor's there as well. She said she'd tried going somewhere else for grad school, but she just couldn't bring herself to fully leave.
