theatrical_muse. Prompt 288. Is redemption truly possible?

It always is. There's always hope. I can't say that there is a point of no return. And I've heard some stories of some very sick people, but - and maybe this is just me - I can't say it can't happen. It's just not me. I don't believe in negative absolutes.

For some reason when I look at this question, I think about Kevin Spencer. Kevin was a friend of Brendan's who volunteered to work for MI5 after September 11th. When I met him, he was putting his life on the line to do that job. He also messed it up pretty well: he got beaten up and we all almost got shot over it. I threw a fit, or as much of one as I ever throw, over it. But Kevin made it right. He screwed up, accepted the consequences of his mistakes, and was a pretty brave guy to say that he couldn't do the job anymore, and was going to do whatever he had to do to keep us safe. He wasn't going to let us get hurt for his mistakes.

Kevin redeemed himself in my eyes. If he ends up dating Tara, I can't say I'd be all that upset about it. And everybody who knows me knows that's a big deal.
