I guess I'm something like a morale officer. Cheerleader. Whatever you want to call it. People say I'm good at keeping people positive. I don't really know how. It just sort of happens I guess.
It really depends on the person, too. Brendan really enjoys shiny objects, messing with microwaves, large quantities of Lego bricks...if I'm trying to put him in a better mood chances are good I'm also going to have to do something a little weird. Tara, on the other hand, sometimes just needs a hug and a few words. My boss enjoys this particular kind of coffee that I have to track down. Every situation and every person is different, and I do my best to find out just what they need.
I'm just glad that I can put a smile on someone's face when they need it. That's a great gift to be able to have, and I hope that I use it well.
