I wish there were a Reform Synagogue in Nova Scotia. Or even any evidence of a Jewish community near where I live. It would make investigating Judaism somewhat simpler.
Same goes for Eastern Christianity, in fact.
Re-reading Karen Armstrong's A History of God, Judaism sounds immensely appealing; less neurotic than Christianity, less ascetic than Islam. And Greek ("Orthodox") Christianity sounds much better than Western (Protestant and Catholic) Christianity. And Islam...I still don't know about Islam. A lot of it still appeals to me, but so much of it (the Qur'an, Sunnah, and Ummah) is grievously problematic.
For now, I'm doing what Armstrong does and calling myself a "freelance monotheist". It doesn't solve anything, but it gives me some sense of semi-rootedness in the absence of knowing which tradition to adopt.
