So the first time I go back to kickboxing class after months of being away from it, it's the week that the instructor decides to introduce circuit training. Oy vey! Twice during the circuit my abs quit on me entirely: "Nope," they said, "we are not doing any more crunches. Just lift your head off the floor and call that a crunch, because we can't pull your shoulders off the floor any more. We are done."
Also, I have bruises on my elbow. My elbow, for crying out loud! From trying to strike the punching bag with my elbows, a kickboxing technique that I was not able to fathom in the 2 minutes we had to practice it. (There was no real instruction, just the circuit. I've had instruction in elbow striking, but it was months ago.) My right cross, however, is coming along quite nicely. Pow!
