Weekend from hell is still ongoing. We spent ALL DAY Saturday shopping for a new couch. Finally got one at 7:30pm. Won't be here until the end of the month, but it's big and comfortable and awesome. We also got a coffee table and an end table. I think once I recover the rose colored chairs, that'll be it for furniture in the living room. The couch ( Read more... )

My new floors are finally in and done. I LOVE THEM. I also love my new wall colors, and want to repaint the dining room to match the living room and foyer. But that'll wait a bit.

Plumber was really no help. At first he said he'd never seen a system like ours and that the entire thing would need replacing to the tune of $850. Then I got Jason on the phone who said he was looking at the replacement part online for $120. Then the guy said he'd put it in for us for $450. They went back and forth for a bit before he left. Burned the crap out of my lips last night roasting marshmallows with the boys. Woke up with a migraine so now I feel like I've been punched repeatedly in the head. Jason's company xmas party is tonight and we have a babysitter and everything so I have to cowboy up but I really don't feel like it. Over the past week I've completed stage one of drab to fab for the kitchen. The paint! Still to do are the backsplash, floors and replacing the stove. That'll happen later. Here's the pics:

We got our house painted! And aside from the joy that comes from having nice colors, I know it won't fall apart or (continue to) rot! Yay! They had to do a LOT of woodwork, but I can no longer see daylight through the wall next to the front door.

It's still in progress as far as finishing decorating but he's moved in now so I figured I'd post some pictures.

The color is a really pretty blue. Not as dark as the Disney color he originally picked out, but not as light as I would have liked. I let him pick from a few choices after he said he wanted blue.
