The man is a paranoid who reacts before thinking. Whoever has spoken to him last can sway him on a decision, but then someone else can then come in and change his mind. He does our reviews and marks us down for perceived errors, but then cannot tell us how to do the job so he wouldn't be writing us up (they are in the process of changing our job so no one knows what is going on).

I often have to bring in the Union to make him do what he *should* do and then he wonders why doesn't she come to me? Of course, I already have.

But he loves animals and has horses, dogs and cats. We can relate at that level. He's also a bit of a hypocontriact (sp?) - which makes it handy that his wife is a nurse.

He often writes us up for the same things he is doing himself.

All of this is in our best interest, of course, and he truly believes he is helping us be better employees.

So, sometimes he is a good guy and other times he's just totally unreasonable, stupid and butt headed. He will probably be retiring within the next few years.

And I have to say - this one is the GOOD manager. The other one is far worse.

Headaches, me? Yeah.

You know, ever since Oklahoma and 9/11 we have to go through metal detectors to get into the building! :-)

Hugs, and hope you are well now too.

I guess that limits us to a really realistic-looking squirt gun, containing the liquid of your choice.

Naw, guns just aren't my style. I'm much more into stealth office rearrangement or the such. Besides, he would be so easy to freak out. It would almost be non-sporting and pathetic.

I'd rather we could fix his mental problems and give him a sense of decency and fairness. THAT would be nice.
