Timeline
I've seen it said, both in fanfics and in forums, that the Jenova project happened thirty years before the start of FFVII.
I've just gone through the entire script, and can't find the date anywhere. It's possible that this information was released in something new- like the Ultimania Omega- but the "thiry year period" shows up long before that, or any of the compilation, came out.
