Spring Break meant many things to Rachel Berry.
The most distressing was that Spring Break signalled another year with no companionship (friendly or otherwise).
Her schoolmates made fun of her in the halls (with slushies and words). They drew explicit pictures of her. She was tormented in her classes for her outstanding work habits (and for answering questions). Honestly, she didn’t even garner respect from her teachers (apparently they found her personality somewhat brash).
Rachel Berry knew who she was. And she didn’t need friends to give her life meaning.
But at Spring Break, she wished for them.
