So I know that nearly all of you have no idea I exist since I never post here but I really need to get into the habit of posting SOMEwhere so why not torture you all with my presence? lol. Sorry in advance!
Yesterday I finished the three month weight management program required by my insurance. Testing is all done and everything was submitted to Aetna for insurance approval late on Friday. I have heard over and over that Aetna in particular is incredibly quick with their response so I hope to be just as lucky as those in the past.
This is both an exciting and terrifying time for me! Of course I am excited knowing that there is a potential that I will be "switched" September 1st (if insurance gives me their blessing of course). Im excited that this would mean an entirely new life for me. Im excited to know that I have worked my tail off to lose 26 pounds (so far) on my pre-op diet just to help my chances of having fewer complications on the table and immediately post-op. I am thankful that I have an amazing support system with a husband who loves me regardless of my size and a family that understands why I really need surgery to help me be able to live long enough to have a full, healthy life.
Terrifying for me because I will be travelling from Oregon to Federal Way, Washington to have my surgery. This means that my support system will be three hours away during my recovery. I am prepared with a laptop and my cell phone for needed encouragement but being held hostage in a foreign town for 12 days post op all the while recovering from a major surgery is somewhat concerning...ok...more than somewhat. I do actually have a brother and wonderful sister in law (its not official...yet...but it will be darnit!) who are close to the hospital so im sure it won't be so bad. Im just nervous I guess *blush*
I think im prepared. I have my shrink supporting my decision for surgery, plenty of protein powder in various flavors to accomodate my post-op taste changes, a menagerie of vitamins, plenty of chapstick and lipgloss to help me through the hospital stay, Jello coming out of my ears and chicken broth a plenty!
Im ready for the pre-op roller coaster to come to a halt so I can jump on the post-op ride of my life.
Thanks for listening to my ramble...provided you made it to the end lol.
