Silence is Not Golden

I forgot to charge my ipod last night so I haven't had any music all day. Just the sweet serenading(sp?) of nursing home patients. I think my bosses are giving me a little more respect now because I solved two of their computer problems (which would have never happened if they used macs instead of pcs!) and not once, but TWICE they came into my office and I was actually working on stuff rather than the couple of times I've been on AIM on the other computer and been like lolz omgz haxor n00b when they walked in.

I spent all day yesterday trying to figure out how to make a tape's timecode visible on the monitor while recording onto VHS tape. It took FOREVER because the screen was always black until you started recording. I did learn all about inputs and outputs all sorts of crazy component and composite video and audio cables.

Oh, and we use BETA!! fucking beta tapes. remember that shit? these things are like giant coffins but apparently are the standard for high quality media. So I had to figure out a beta deck too!

It kinda sucks that there is no one here directly to ask about video problems (since I'm the goto guy) but on the other hand, it takes me longer to figure stuff out but I actually remember it. (And I think the guy who just left is getting tired of my inquisitive phonecalls)

So the other day while in the midst of all this uncreative corporate video stuff, I decided I really wanted to do another music video. And then I remembered my conversation with Ira and Sam about their music video idea and I think it's going to be able to be accomplished. Ira's idea is really wacky with fish as drumsticks and a submarine, but I want to give it a really washed out 60s-70s television look. (think Partridge Family, Happy Days) Could be interesting.
