First TV show I had self-insertion fantasies about: The original Mickey Mouse Club. Yes, I am that old. I really, really wanted to be a Mouseketeer.
First fandom in which I interacted (online and in person) with other fans: The X-Files. Alt.tv.x-files. Lots of fun websites about St. Scully trout-slapping Mulder. It was awesome.
Pairing in the first slash fanfiction I read: Mulder/Krycek.
First RPS/RPF I read: Popslash, 2001. It was Nsync, either
helenish or
synchronik, of course. I only knew who Justin and Lance were - Justin was *Justin* even back then, and Lance was weird-looking - and I think the story was Chris/JC. I figured out Chris was the short one, but I totally had JC and Joey confused. And then I was happily lost for *years.* :)
First fanfiction I read that made me think, YES, this is exactly the kind of fanfiction I'd like to write... Anything by
flambeau,
merryish or
cesperanza.
Pairing in the first fanfiction I wrote: Nick/Heath, The Big Valley. I was about fifteen and it obviously never saw the light of day. The first story I ever posted was The Sentinel, Jim/Blair.
First OTP: Probably Gil Favor and Rowdy Yates from Rawhide. Did I mention I'm old? I had no idea what it all meant, I wasn't even ten years old, but there was something about those two guys together...
First RPS/F OTP: Hmmm. I'm more of an OTC person than an OTP one, especially in popslash. So any pairing involving Lance was fine by me. Oh, right, the question was my first - I'd have to say it was All About the JoLa.
First fannish friend I met in person: I really think it was
foxmonkey. I drove to Columbus to pick up her, Erin and Ashley, then we drove to Chicago to see JC at the House of Blues. Standing in line for that, I met lots of fandom folks, but Fox was the first one.
First character I formally roleplayed: I've never done that.
