I have got to tell you -- I have never seen the O.C. but that is still a powerful video, whether or not you are invested in the show. Brilliantly done and such an excellent song choice. It made me ache and shiver which is a very good indicator to me that a video artist has their finger on the emotional pulse of the vid/song. Brilliantly done and I want to let you know that even though I don't comment on all of your vids, I have watched a number of them and they are very excellent. This, however, really sticks in my head.
That is such a relief. I like to make videos that can be enjoyed even out of context, but I always feel like they become context-necessary. I guess I just can't step outside of my own head enough to judge properly. Thank you very much for the feedback.
Eeeee. Okay, so I'm not a vidder, but I'm going to attempt some actual feedback as opposed to just making affirmatory noises.
You did so so good. You really don't need to be a vidder to give stunning feedback like this, and this is STUNNING feedback. This video didn't get a huge response (I think I've been spoiled lately), but with feedback like this, who needs more? Thank you so much for taking the time to look a little deeper.
Also, I don't know if you did this on purpose, but you timed the shot of Ryan playfully slapping Seth with the map to be right after the scenes of wrestling with the gun, and right on a certain beat of the music which was exactly where I'd have expected the gunshot to be.Marry me? Yep, I did that on purpose. I was kind of trying to show the happiness being shot in a way. Yeah, I know, way too obscure, but I couldn't bring myself to take that out

Wow oh wow! This made me *hurt* and I know that this is another one of your vids that I'm going to keep re-watching and keep finding new things that I love about it, keep finding new understanding in it.
I love how you infused the Seth/Ryan moments between the violence and Ryan's struggle. It gave it...substance. Made you feel it all even harder, because they love each other, but it's hard.
And dear god there's this one scene where everytime I see it I honestly think Seth is going to kiss Ryan, but he ends up whispering something in his ear.
I will never get tired of watching the hug scene.
And *points up* My name!
This is how Ryan struck me, early season one: very messed up, very lonely, and very, very in love with Seth. *aches for Ryan* you definitely got that point across in the video. I just love Ryan and even his type of character, the kind that is more silent with their love. They keep it inside. And wow, Ryan is just guh the expressions, protecting people and the fighting. I can't help but adore the guy, and this

That's a better summary for this video than the one I gave, I think. This video didn't start out as a statement of queer struggle---it was going to be kind of sappy, and about Ryan wanting to give Seth some fun, but... I saw the framework for something more intense, and it drew me in. One day I'll do a fun vid, I swear I will. I want too, anyway. It's harder than I thought it would be.
You know I love your vids. Add to that slashy Seth/Ryan-ness and we've got a beautiful mix going on indeed. I was wandering around shaking with excitement all the while this video was downloading, and yet I still wasn't prepared for how good it turned out to be

Your feedback constantly amazes me. Again and again it reminds me to give the audience a little credit --- you read the subtext so well, and you notice the small things that take so much time, but rarely are spotted. Thank you for constantly making vidding worth it to me. I mean, it's worth it to me to make them because I love storytelling --- but worth sharing? Worth taking the risk and putting it out there? I think that's what I mean.
You're very welcome for the feedback, and hehe, thanks for the ego boost in turn.
Are you still struggling to find a permanent host? I've just upgraded my domain and there's a fair bit of bandwidth left over each month, so if you're keen, I would love to host a few of your vids. My site is here if you wanna have a browse around. I currently host for one other vidder - basically the files will be stored on my server and you can link to them wherever. Probably more convenient than having to reupload to yousendit every week. Just an idea though, so feel free to shoot me down if it's not your thing. :)
I have offers of permanent hosts (people willing to host vids for me), but I always feel bad if they host more than one or two, because they're usually 20mb files, sometimes more. But I wouldn't turn you down, that's for sure. YouSendIt gets very wearing. It's useful, as far as sharing goes, but re-uploading, the more videos I make, becomes a hassle. sunryse00 is currently hosting a bunch of my vids, because she's just that cool, but with the creative spurt I've had recently, I haven't wanted to overload her with them. Thank you VERY much for offering. Is there a size preference you have for a vid on your server?
Can you tell I haven't slept in two days? Gah. Coherency is so last season.

I can host, if you don't mind them using an ftp login - strongspace has unlimited bandwidth.
